Half the sum of two numbers (x + y) is 20
twice the difference between the two numbers (x-y) is 8.
Question states***
x + y = 40
x - y = 4
2x = 44
x = 22 and y = 18
CHECKING our Answer***
40/2 = 20
2*4 = 8
