Question 813734: For the following question we are asked to writea sytem of equations and solve:
"Twice a smaller number is inreased by the larger is 45. Four times the larger decreasedvby 5times the smaller is 24. Find the numbers."
My system of equations was: 2S+L=45 and 4L-5S=24
After working it out my answer was S=12 and L=21 but after comparing answers with my friends they all got a different answer, however I cannot remember what the answer was.... What do you think I did wrong?

2S+L=45 and 4L-5S=24

2S+L=45 and 4L-5S=24
plug S & L to check
2*12+21=45
so you are right
4*21-5*12=24
setting up equation is fine.
