In a 2 digit number, the sum of the digits is 14.
:
let x = the 10's digit
let y = the units
then
10x+y = "the number"
and
x + y = 14
or
y = (14-x)
:
If 29 is subtracted from the number,then digits become equal,
let n the equal digits
:
10x + y - 29 = 10n+n
10x + y - 29 = 11n
10x + (14-x) - 29 = 11n
10x - x + 14 - 29 = 11n
9x - 15 = 11n
9x = 11n + 15
x = n +
x = n +
Find a value for n that will give a single integer value for x
That would be n=6, then x = 9 and y = 5
we have:
95 - 29 = 66
