Question 767682: Irene paid $40 more for her cell phone bill in July than in June. In August she paid $10 less than her June bill. If she paid a total of $120 for her cell phone, how much did she pay for her August bill?
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
June bill = x
July bill = x + 40
August bill = x - 10
Total:
x + (x + 40) + (x - 10) = 120
x + x + 40 + x - 10 = 120
3x + 30 = 120
3x = 120 - 30
3x = 90
x = 30
August bill was $20.
Hope this helps.
