Since the largest number is 12 more than it, the larger number is x+12.
Their sum is x+(x+12)=2x+12.
2x+12=48, since their sum is 48, so 2x=48-12=36, and x=36/2=18.
Since x is 18, x+12=30, which are the value of the 2 numbers.
Thus, the numbers are 18 and 30.
