Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The quotient of a number and 3 is the same as the difference of the number and two. Find the number.
3/n = n-2
n-3=0 or n+1=0
n-3+3=0+3 or n+1-1=0-1
n=3 or n=-1
Sanity check:
For n=3
That checks.
For n=-1
That checks too.
Happy Calculating!!!!
