The difference of two positve numbers is 6. The larger number is one more than twice the smaller number. What are the two numbers? Let L= the larger number and let S= the smaller number.
L-S = 6 (L = S+6)
L = 2S+1
S+6 = 2S+1
6 = S+1
S = 5
L = 11
