Let x= number of quarters
Then 10x=number of nickels
And 26-x-10x or 26-11x=number of dimes
Now lets deal in pennies to reduce confusion
We are told that:
25x+5(10x)+10(26-11x)=225 clear parens
25x+50x+260-110x=225 subtract 260 from both sides
75x-110x=225-260
-35x=-35
x=1-----------------------------number of quarters
10x=10(1)=10---------------------number of nickels
26-11x=26-11=15---------------------number of dimes

1(25)+10(5)+15(10)=225
25+50+150=225
225=225
