Hello,
Lets have one number be x and the next be x+1. Now we can set up an equation:
x+4(x+1)=39
Expand:
x+4x+4=39
Combine and subtract 4:
5x=35
Divide by 5:
x=7
Now we know the numbers are 7 & 8
