QUESTION:
When the wildlife commission was finished, 1/5 of the population of beavers had been observed. If the beaver population numbers 34,260, how many beavers were observed?

ANSWER:

Given that beaver population is 34,260.
Also given that 1/5 th of the population gad been observed.

That means, number of beavers observed is = (1/5) times total population.

===> (1/5) * 34,260

==> 34,260/5

==> 6852

Number of beavers observed is 6852.
