Let (x+1) and (x) be the consecutive numbers. We get one-thir of the bigger number by addin 7 to one-fifth of the smaller.
To get rid of the fractions, we multiply both sides of the equation by their LCD, 15. We get:
The consecutive numbers are 50 and 51.
