if a number is increased by 4 times its reciprocal the sum is 4 and one sixth what is the number
Let the number be "x":
Equation:
x + 4(1/x) = 4 1/6
----
x + (4/x) = 25/6
---
Multiply thru by 6x to get:
6x^2 + 24 = 25x
------
6x^2 - 25x + 24 = 0
(2x-3)(3x-8) = 0
x = 3/2 or x = 8/3
