Question 581803: There are 3 brothers who have consecutive even integers of age. 3 times the youngest brother is 48 more than the older brother. How old is the youngest brother?
I'm not sure what to do for this problem, I get the Let statements are:
Let x = 1st consecutive even integer
x+2 = 2nd consecutive even integer
x+3 = 3rd consecutive even integer
But for the equation I'm not sure how to set it up my ideas were 3x-48=x+3 But that doesn't work out I'm clueless on this problem the whole "3 times more than 48" throws me off.

"x+3 = 3rd consecutive even integer" ___ x + 2 + 2 = x + 4
should work okay now
