Question 579095: The product of a number and the number decreased by 3 is 108. Find the two possible answers for the number?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let the number be x
x(x-3)=108
x^2-3x=108
x^2-3x-108 =0
x^2-12x+9x-108=0
x(x-12)+9(x-12)=0
(x-12)(x+9)=0
x=12 OR -9
