Question 576114: The sum of two integers is 805. The difference of these integers is 105. Find the two integers.
Answer by Maths68(1474) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let
Larger integer = x
Smaller integer = y
Sum of two integers is 805
x+y=805...............(1)
Difference is 105
x-y=105...............(2)
Add (1) and (2)
x+y=805
x-y=105
-------------------
2x=910
2x=910
2x/2=910/2
x=455
Put the value of x in (1)
x+y=805...............(1)
455+y=805
y=805-455
y=350
Larger integer = x = 455
Smaller integer = y = 350
