One number is 3/4 of anothr number. Their sum is 63. Find the numbers.

Let one of the numbers be "x".
The other number is (3/4)x.
EQUATION:
x+(3/4)x = 63
(7/4)x=63
x=(4/7)63
x=4*9
x=36 (one of the numbers)
(3/4)x=(3/4)36=27 (the other number)
