the smaller of two numbers is 5 less than the greater. if the smaller is increased by 4 times the greater, the result is 30. find the two numbers.
--------------
Let the larger number be "x"
The smaller is "x-5".
EQUATION:
x-5+4x=30
5x=37
x=7 (larger)
x-5=2 (smaller)
