Question 546396: the sum of the digits of a large number is 15. using the divisibility rules by which number or numbers is the large number divisible ?
Answer by KMST(5328) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
All you can say is that the large number is divisible by 3.
The sum of the digits only tells you about what happens when you divide by 9, with divisibility by 3 a consequence of that.
If the sum of the digits were a multiple of 9, you could say that it is divisible by 9. Numbers whose digits add to 15, like 15, have a remainder of 6 when divided by 9.
