Let the tens digit number be x
Then the unit digit number be 11-x --- The sum is 11, if a number is x, then the next number would be the sum subtracted by the first number

10x+11-x=10x+8
-x=-3
x=3

Value of the units digit
11-3
=8

The number is 38.
