PLEASE NOTE: I WAS WRONG!! An error correction was sent to me by Bonnie, and I would like to thank her for catching my error!! I must have misread the problem. The lesson here is that you just can't be too careful in READING a word problem!!

CORRECTED SOLUTION:
Let x = distance jogged the first night
x+440 = distance jogged the second night
x+ 880 = distance jogged the third night

The sum of these is 6600, so
x + x + 440 + x + 880 = 6600
3x + 1320 = 6600

Subtract 1320 to each side:
3x + 1320 - 1320 = 6600-1320
3x = 5280
x= 5280/3 = 1760 First night
x+ 440 = 2200 Second night
x+ 880 = 2640 Third night

Check: Total = 1760 + 2200 + 2640 = 6600
