The sum of 5 numbers divided by 5 = 10, which is the average (i.e., the arithmetic mean).
So, the sum of the 5 numbers is 5*10 = 50.
.
When we add a number, the average is increased to 12.
.
(50+x)/6 = 12
.
50+x = 72
.
x = 22
.
Done.
