If the first number is ten more than the second then
Let the second number = x
Let the first number = x + 10
the sum of both is 22 so
(x) + (x + 10) = 22
combine like symbols
2x + 10 = 22
subtract ten from both sides
2x = 12
divide both sides by 2
x = 6
the two numbers are 6 and 16.
