Answer by Maths68(1474)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let
One number = x
Other number = y
x=y+5...............(1)
xy=66...............(2)
Substitute the value of x in (2)
(y+5)y=66
y^2+5y=66
y^2+5y-66=0
y^2+11y-6y-66=0
y(y+11)-6(y+11)=0
(y+11)(y-6)=0
y+11=o or y-6=0
y=-11 or y=6 (negative number inadmissible)
y=6
Put the value of y in (1)
x=y+5
x=6+5
x=11
x,y=11,6
Check
=====
Put the values of x and y in (1) and (2)
x=y+5=6+5=11
xy=66=6*11=66
