2y+3x=74............2
1 x -1 y = 18 .............1
3 x + 2 y = 74 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 2
Multiply (2) by 1
2 x -2 y = 36
3 x 2 y = 74
Add the two equations
5 x = 110
/ 5
x = 22
plug value of x in (1)
1 x + -1 y = 18
22 + -1 y = 18
-1 y = 18 -22
-1 y = -4
y = 4
