Answer by Maths68(1474) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let Numbers are x and y
x=10+y.....................(1)
2x-3y=12...................(2)
Put the value of x in (2)
2(10+y)-3y=12
20+2y-3y=12
20-y=12
-y=12-20
-y=-8
Multiply by (-1) both sides of above equation
y=8
Put the value of y in (1)
x=10+y.....................(1)
x=10+8
x= 18
Numbers and 8, 18
Check
Put the value of x and y in (1)
x=10+y.....................(1)
18=10+8
18=18
Now
Put the value of x and y in (2)
2x-3y=12...................(2)
2(18)-3(8)=12
36-24=12
12=12
