Answer by Maths68(1474)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
 Let
One Number = x
Other Number = y
==========================================
one number is 11 more than another number
x=y+11................(1)
their sum is 45
x+y=45.................(2)
Put the value of x from (1) to (2)
y+11+y=45
2y+11=45
2y=45-11
2y=34
2y/2=34/2
y=17
Put the value of y in (1)
x=y+11
x=17+11
x=28
=======================================
One Number = x = 28     <----------- (larger of two numbers)
Other Number = y = 17
