if a certain number is decreased by 8 and that difference is multiplied by 8 the result is equal to the result obtained if the number is decreased by 6 and the difference is multiplied by 6.
:
8(n-8) = 6(n-6)
8n - 64 = 6n - 36
8n - 6n = -36 + 64
2n = 28
n = 28/2
n = 14 is the number
