How long will it take Jose and Alex together to paint a car which can be done by Jose Alone in 7 days and Alex alone in 5days?

Let x = time (days) it takes for both
then
x(1/7 + 1/5) = 1
multiplying both sides by 35:
x(5 + 7) = 35
x(12) = 35
x = 35/12
x = 2.92 days
or
x = 2 days and 22 hours
