Question 489615: please answered this problem,A bullet is fired at a target and sound of its impact is heard 6 seconds later.If it travels at the rate of 660 meter per second and sound travels at the rate of 330 meter per second, how far away is the target?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the target distance = x m
time for the bullet to reach the target = x/660
time for the sound to return = x/330
Total time = 6 seconds
x/660 + x/330= 6
(2x+x)/660 = 6
3x=6*660
x=6*660/3
x=6*220
x=1320m
