Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = number of large cakes
y= number of small cakes
x+y = 60
2x +y = 75
Multiply both sides of first equation by -1,
-x - y = -60
2x + y = 75
Add equations:
x = 15 large cakes
Since the total number of cakes is 60, that leaves 45 small cakes.
Check: Total icing = 2(15) + 45 = 75
