a, b, c, d, e
:
my tens digit is 2 less than my hundreds digit.
d = c - 2
:
my thousands digit is 3 more than my hundreds digit.
b = c + 3
:
my ten thousands digit is equal to my hundreds digit.
a = c

d = 3
:
the sum of my digits is 25.
a + b + c + d + e = 25
Replace the above with the given equations
c + (c+3) + c + 3 + e = 25
3c + 6 + e = 25
3c + e = 25 - 6
3c + e = 19
from the 2nd equation, d = c-2, and we are given that d=3, therefore
c - 2 = 3
c = 5
3(5) + e = 19
e = 19 - 15
e = 4
