x=2y+2
[so y can't be anything more than 3. cuz if it were four, it would no longer be one digit (it would be 10).]
yx=3(x+y)+5
since y can only be 1, 2, and 3, we'll try all three numbers.
when y is 1, x is 4, giving us 41.
when y is 2, x is 6, giving us 62.
when y is 3, x is 8, giving us 83.
let's try them all. 41 has a sum of 5. 3(5)+5=15, not 14.
62 has a sum of 8. 3(8)+5=29, not 26. it's not that either.
83 has a sum of 11. 3(11)+5=38, the reverse of 83. the answer is thence 83. please im or email for questions :)
