Hi,
Let x and (x+1) represent the two consecutive integers
Question states***
x + 4(x+1) = 39
5x + 4 = 39
5x = 35
x = 7 is the smaller. 7,8 the two consecutive integers
CHECKING our Answer***
7 + 4*8 = 39
