Let the multiples be 4x, 4(x+1) and 4(x+2)
2(4(x+1)+(4(x+2))-4(x+1)=5*4x-4
2(4x+4+4x+8)-4x-4=20x-4
8x+8+8x+16-4x-4=20x-4
12x+20=20x-4
8x=24
x=3

12,16 and 20 are the 3 multiples of 4.
