Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let number be n
n-12 = 5n +4
add -n to both sides
-12= 5n-n +4
-12=4n+4
add -4 to both sides
-12-4=4n
4n=-16
n=-4
