Question 425438: three times the square of a positive number when added to the 7 times of the number result is 26
Answer by sudhanshu_kmr(1152) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x^2 + 7x = 26
=> 3x^2 +7x -26 =0
=> 3x^2 -6x + 13x -26 =0
=> 3x(x -2) +13(x -2) = 0
=> (3x+13)(x-2)=0
=> x = 2, -13/3
so number is 2.
