Larger number (x) is (=) 3 less (-) than 4 times (x) smaller number (y)
Or in equation form: x=4y-3 (2)
Substitute the value of x into (1) -> (4y-3)-y=75 -> 3y-3=75
Solving for y gives y=78/3, or y=26
Insert the value for y in (1) -> x-26=75 -> x=101
Ans: x=101,y=26
Check: 101=4*26-3 -> 101=104-3=101
