Question 402279: Tuna can be bought in 12-oz cans that sell for $1.09 each or in 10.75-oz cans that sell for .98 cents each. Which is the better buy? Use unit ratios to answer this problem.
I'm pretty stuck on this one. Please help! Thank you :)

Answer by sofiyac(983)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
All you do is divide the price by the weight to find the unit rate
1.09/12=0.0908 per ounce
.98/10.75=0.0912 per ounce
So the first one is a better buy
