Question 395550: The sum of two integers is 30. Ten times one integer is 5 times the other integer. How do you set up an equation for this? (I know the integers, just not the equation.)
Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If x and y are the integers, then 10x = 5y --> 2x = y. Also, x + y = 30. After that you can easily solve for x and y using substitution.
