:

= 6
x + y = 2(6)
x + y = 12
:
and the difference between the digits is also 6.
x - y = 6
:
Add to the 1st equation
x + y = 12
x - y = 6
------------adding eliminates y, find x
2x = 18
x = 9
then
9 - y = 6
y = 3
