Answer by emargo19(101) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x+8 be the 1st number
let x be the 2nd number
three times the 2nd number=3x
twice the 1st number = 2(x+8)
therefore
3x+2(x+8)=26
3x+2x+16=26
3x+2x=26-16
5x=10
x=2
The value of 2nd number=2
The value of 1st number is,
x+8
=2+8
=10
Ans(10, 2)
