Raul can plumb a house in 48hr. Mira can do the same job in 36hr

Let x represent the time it would take together.

Amount done per hr is the equalizer

1/48 + 1 / 36 = 1/x  Multiplying each term by 144x so as all denominators = 1

144x/48 + 144x/36 = 144x/x

3x + 4x = 144

7x = 144

x = 20.57 hrs is the time it takes working to gether ro plumb the house
