y = the second number
Equation 1
x+y = 75
Equation 2
y = 2x-3
Substituting the value of y in Equation 2 to Equation 1
x + (2x-3) = 75
3x = 75 +3
3x = 78
x = 26
y = 75-26
y = 49
The numbers are 26 & 49
