Let x represent the 4% solutions, then (6-x) represents the 1% solution
.04x + .01(6-x) = .02*6qt
.03x = .01*6
x = 2 qt of 4% solution 0f butter fat milk
(6qt - 2qt) = 4qt 1% solution of butter fat milk

.04*2 + .01*4 = .08 + .04 = .12
