The perimeters of a rectangle is 82 centimeters. The lengths in centimeters of 2 adjacent sides are consecutive integers
.
Let x = one side of rectangle
then
x+1 = adjacent side
.
2(x + x+1) = 82
2(2x+1) = 82
2x+1 = 41
2x = 40
x = 20 centimeters
.
adjacent side:
x+1 = 20+1 = 21 centimeters
.
the rectangle is 20 by 21 centimeters
