I have tried formulating an equation...simple addtion and multiplication... the closes I get is: 1041 or 1044.
If someone will please explain/show me how to find the answer, I would much appreciate it. As I'm sure I'll have similar questions to answer in the future...THANKS

since there are no operations indicated , this is just trial and error
you have already found that straight addition or multiplication don't work , so mix it up
not sure how many solutions there are , but this works ___ 1041 - 1042 + 1043 = 1042
