Question 326149: the difference between two numbers is 27. when twice the smaller number is subtracted from three times large number the difference is 95. what is the large number?
Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X-Y=27 or X=27+Y
3X-2Y=95
3(27+Y)-2Y=95
81+3Y-2Y=95
Y=95-81
Y=14 ans.
X=27+14=41 ans.
PROOF:
3*41-2*14=95
123-28=95
95=95
