Use brute force.
You can guess that a number with a 1 as a digit is not a good choice.
Numbers with 5 or greater are also poor choices for starters.
So let's try a few and get an idea of how this goes
22 - yields 8+8 = 16 way too small
try 23
23 - yeilds 8 + 27 = 35 still too small
24 - yeilds 8 + 64 = 72 . Now we are getting somewhere.24*3 = 72. Ta Da
Sometimes, brute force and a little 'number sense' can get to an answer more quickly then something more mathematically elegant
