Question 314689: If one more than 3 times a number is divided by the number, the result is four thirds. Find the number.
Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let n = the number you want to find
(3n + 1)/n = 4/3
Multiply both sides by 3n to clear the fractions.
After doing so, we get: 3(3n + 1) = 4n
9n + 3 = 4n
3 = 4n - 9n
3 = -5n
-3/5 = n
