I am stuck on 'added to three times the greater', I am not sure how to write that out. so far all I have is x+(x+2)

Well, I need some help here.
You can't add multiples of even integers to get 43, you'll always get an even number.
I can set up the problem and you could see how it would be solved.
I think you mean smaller integer is added to three times the greater to get 43.







That's as far as you can go since 4 doesn't go into 37 evenly. That shows that you can't get two evens to add up to an odd.
